March Madness

It really feels like spring is coming with the weather changes every half hour or so. I woke up today to pouring rain which then turned to snow!! The snow didn't really stick around long (whew). The wind picked up and blew old dead leaves and debris about for awhile and now here I sit writing with a beautiful blue sky outside and the sun is shining in on me and my cat who found the primo spot on the rug - cozy. I love this madness of spring.

On a quilting note: I've gone crazy working late into the night finishing up quilt projects. So far the count - 4 done and 8 more to go.

Oooo the sun feels so good I might just have to take a nap next to the cat. Yep, it MUST be spring.

A Visit With My Sister

I am in Portland, Oregon this weekend playing with kittens, quilts and my sister. We visited my favorite quilt shop in Lake Oswego, The Pine Needle, where I purchased some fabric (duh) for a quilt. I also indulged in some Amy Butler fabric for a bag - ooooh her fabrics are luscious!

My sister, Gretha Lindwood, is a painter working in oils and pastels. We often talk by phone giving each other sisterly advice on our creative projects.

Her two kittens are darling and fun to play with. I'll be heading home with a bag of fabric and pictures of those cuties. I wish we lived closer, I miss my sis.

Latest Quilt Project

This baby quilt is my latest project and of course, the baby is now 1 year old!

First Stitches

My first posting is on Christmas Eve, 2008. The gifts are wrapped, the house is clean, the food is prepared and the family is ready for a few days of relaxing and visiting. With over a foot of snow in our town, many folks will be staying close to home, likely walking to most destinations. This is the first time in my memory that we'll have a white Christmas. Mother Nature has stitched a feather-soft quilt of white on white and laid it gently over the landscape.
